Winter/Spring 2024
President‘s Message
Hapy New Year to Everyone!
After the Holiday busy rush of festive lights, gift-giving, and gatherings of family, friends, and food, I find that January can be a bit of cold snapback back to reality. In fact, January is Mental Awareness Month for good reason. Here at Kiwanis, January concludes three month flurry of lots of community activities and our annual Pecan Sale. As winter wears on, the pace of our Club’s activity definitely slows down. But as I see it, the winter and early spring months bring a great opportunity to re-connect mentally and socially in dinner meeting fellowship, getting to know our Key Club students better, and, together, planning service activities for the year ahead with my fellow Kiwanians.
In the weeks ahead, the Club has several meeting presenters from local children-based charities that we look forward to hosting and learning more about. We will be planning our Spring Highway Clean-Up service project and begin initial planning for our annual Blueberry Sale. I’m also delighted to report that we added 5 new members recently, so we look to build upon that success in the coming months -- we invite new members with new ideas for service to join us.
If you are curious about Kiwanis and how you can serve the kids in our Hanover community, we welcome you to our dinner meetings at Perkins the 1st and 3rd Thursday, 6:00. We look forward to meeting you!
